Celtic promise reply to Brian Wilson’s Continuity Lie
John Paul Taylor has promised a Celtic fan that the club will respond to Brian Wilson’s support for the Continuity Lie in an obituary to Walter Smith.
Celtic’s SLO has a heavier workload than most at the club, in person and online he is the person tasked with a multitude of different issues.
Why a Celtic Director was chosen for an obituary to Smith is a decision for The Guardian and Wilson but one line jumped out at Celtic supporters, it was full of lies.
However, by this time, the club was caught up in a bewildering series of intrigues and takeovers as well as having been punished with demotion, in 2012, after applying for liquidation. Smith was a man of great probity and not even his loyalty to Rangers or to his friend Ally McCoist, who had taken on the role of manager, could persuade him to stay in an Ibrox environment he did not recognise.

Rangers weren’t demoted, they had 10 points deducted by the SPFL for going into administration in February 2012. When Her Majesty and others rejected a CVA 276 creditors lost out, the club went into the liquidation process which is still on-going. A new club was given conditional membership of the SFA and joined the Scottish Football League in League Three, competing in the SFL Challenge Cup and entering the League Cup and Scottish Cup at the First Round.
Throughout Smiths second spell at Rangers (2007-2011) his squad was bolstered by players that they couldn’t normally afford thanks to a disguised remuneration scam managed by Dave Murray. Smith played a lead role in appointing Ally McCoist as his successor, Malmo and Maribor soon followed.
Celtic stage their AGM next month with Wilson certain to be re-elected as a Non-Executive Director, a position he has held since 2005. The former Labour MP is on the Remuneration Committee alongside Ian Bankier and Tom Allison.
