Former Murray Park starlet Grant Adam has been jailed for eight months for stealing £15,000 from his grand-father. Grant is the brother of media star Charlie.

Grant came through the ranks at Murray Park but failed to make a top team appearance before moving to join St Mirren in 2012.

He failed to breakthrough at the Paisley side and set off on a career that took in Airdrie, Morton, Cowdenbeath and Forfar.

While he followed the career of a journeyman his brother was picking up massive wages at Liverpool and Stoke City.

Today The Sun reports:

FORMER Rangers and Scotland player Grant Adam was sent to prison for eight months today for stealing £15,000 from his 78-year-old grandfather.

Callous Adam, 30, embezzled thousands of pounds from Charles Adam in various locations across Dundee while he was supposed to be looking after his affairs.

Dundee Sheriff Court was told that Adam had family issues which led to him misusing illicit substances and he had also developed a gambling problem.

While regularly handing out opinions on where Celtic are failing Charlie’s team Dundee are bottom of the SPFL Premiership, without a win in eight matches.

In 2012, while playing for Rangers, Grant was fined £500 for sectarian Breach of the Peace.
