Gerrard resigned to missing out on Newcastle job

Steven Gerrard seems resigned to missing out on the manager’s job at Newcastle United.

Last Friday the Liverpool legend went in to great detail about what a big club they were and how their fans deserved success. Gerrard would be watching closely the game against Spurs apparently because Steve Bruce is a great mate.

After his 1,000th game in management Bruce got his £8m compensation pay-off confirming that the newly rich club were in the market for a new boss.

Former Porto coach Paolo Fonseca is the favourite for the job with interest in Gerard reflected in the bookies odds at 20/1 and drifting.

Asked about speculation about a move away he smiled and replied:

Do I look happy? Do I look settled?

Don’t ask me silly questions then.

Gerrard left his wife and family on Merseyside in the summer of 2018 to move to Ibrox, recently he warned the club that he’d have to get more money to spend if he is to get the better of Malmo and Sparta Prague in future European matches.
