Greg Taylor looks like being out of action until into the new year.

The defender suffered a shoulder injury in the early minutes of the Europa League play-off away to Alkmaar on August 26.

After being twice treated on the pitch he came off after 30 minutes and missed the weekend Glasgow derby and Scotland’s September international matches.

On September 11 he started the match at home to Ross County but was forced off early in the second half with surgery required on his shoulder.

Boli Bolingoli, Liam Scales, Adam Monthomery and Josip Juranovic have all been fielded at left-back in Taylor’s absence with the Croatian likely to continue in that position over the coming weeks.

Discussing his full-back options, The Sun reports Postecoglou saying:

Greg’s had an operation on his shoulder, it’s about four weeks since he started rehab so he’s still a good couple of months away. It’s a contact thing where we have to be careful.

With James Forrest and Chris Jullien likely to be available again early next month Taylor and Karamoko Dembele are the last players on Celtic’s once lengthy injury list.

Celtic have no matches between 2-22nd January with the second date a likely target for Taylor to be available for selection.
