It’s like 2019/20 all over again- Despair, dejection, depression for Heart & Hand star David Edgar

David Edgar was a picture of depression as he addressed his followers after last night’s 2-2 draw with Aberdeen at Ibrox.

With the fans back inside the stadium the achievements of last season are looking increasingly freaky with the faults and flaws that ensured that the 2019/20 season ended trophyless back in evidence.

Bang average players remain bang average but a year older, a year more fed up being stuck at Ibrox while stories are fabricated about transfer bids from Porto, Roma, Juventus and Portsmouth.

Repeatedly they lose the first goal with a penalty or honest mistake required to take something from the match.

Last season Gerrard stumbled across a successful formation while other clubs were content to play out fixtures with players regularly ruled out due to testing procedures.

This year club’s are back on it, they are playing in front of fans.Gerrard’s lot have won twice in seven European matches, domestically they’ve dropped points in four of their first 11 games with all of the top six with the exception of Dundee United to be visited before January 3.

After the match I was just incredibly angry, I was just so dissapointed by the performance that the players put in tonight.

Unfortunately Rangers have got into the habit of starting games awfully. The first 20 minutes, again, tonight were attrocious.

At 0-2 you were thinking ‘My goodness’ this is like 2019/20 all over again.

This is the issue. Starting really tepid, needing to go a goal behind, that’s eight times this season that we’ve gone behind, last season in the whole of last season we only went behind four times. We are giving ourselves a mountain to climb each time that we take to the field and we can’t keep doing that.

There needs to be changes, the team looks stale, the team needs freshened up.

The longer that it goes without clicking we can’t just assume that it is going to happen
