Kyogo Furuhashi is fit and raring to go for Celtic’s trip to Aberdeen on Sunday.

For 23 days Celtic fans fretted over the fitness of the striker after he was injured on international duty playing against China.

Kyogo’s every movement was monitored, fans scanned through training ground footage looking for hints of when he would be back in action with Ange Postecoglou giving brief updates without building up expectations.

The Celtic boss hinted on Wednesday that Kyogo might get some game time against Bayer Leverkusen but there was genuine surprise when he was listed in the starting XI.

For 74 minutes he looked back to his best but some heroics from Lukas Hradecky in the Leverkusen denied Kyogo a comeback goal.

Joe Lewis will have the task of keeping Celtic out on Sunday with the away support desperate to celebrate a goal with their new hero.
