Neil Lennon was back in the firing line as he shared his expert analysis on Celtic’s 4-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.
The former Celtic boss was picking up a match fee from BT Sport as he watched the hoops collapse with four goals lost in a European tie for the fifth time in less than a year.
Losing 4-3 to Real Betis provided some hope but it was a different story last season as Lennon passed the buck over successive 4-1 defeats to Sparta Prague followed by a 4-2 defeat away to AC Milan.
From the outside looking in the fans were calling for Lennon to be removed from last October, last night one of the main architects of the current state of the club was sitting back watching the handover that Ange Postecoglou took on.
The Irishman was in charge through four transfer windows that brought in Albian Ajeti, Boli Bolingoli, Hatem Abd Elhamed, Vasilis Barkas, Ismaila Soro and Patryk Klimala which left Postecoglou inheriting a massive rebuild.
The task seems to be overwhelming the Australian but Celtic fans weren’t in the mood for listening to Lennon washing his hands of the blame as the hoops crashed to another humbling defeat.
Neil Lennon analysing our game, is like a guy who’s crashed into yer motor and then says tae ye how bad yer driving was

Looking to stay relevant. He’s On anything and everything that’ll pay him. Could paint a neck on him. Pumped 2-8 off of Sparta and he’s giving out advice…???

Sitting all smug like he won us a European cup and was headhunted by real Madrid. He played a huge part in how lightweight that squad is and hearing him critique us the now is beyond parody.

The nerve of him having any opinion after this set of results last season pic.twitter.com/xljfD8TQ4k

It’s a bit much him sitting saying how bad the defending was when he was in charge when we go pumped 4-1 home and away off Sparta Prague

Totally Lennon left a house of horrors yet he seems to think he lost his job because of COVID and the Celtic fans were to blame for not being in stadium to motivate the team. All our best players left. People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones or wear gimp masks ?

Aye, none of this is Anges fault. He’s been told to play a crazy 2-0-8 formation.
