Alex Rae was at his best on Super Scoreboard as he defended all matters at Ibrox while trying to appear impartial.
Varying between his media voice and his Dennistoun upbringing can be a difficult juggling act but with his prospects of managing in football killed off at St Mirren he has no option other than to chase the media pound.
Appearances on Rangers TV seem to be thinning out but he can always count on Radio Clyde to keep him in the style he enjoyed during his Ibrox playing days where he coined it in thanks to Dave Murray’s disguised remuneration scam.

You know who I’d like to hear from on all this?
Alex Rae.He kicked a guy on the head as he lay on the ground, then claimed innocence on a 5 game ban appealed immediately by McLeish.
I just like listening to him speak, as much as anything. pic.twitter.com/eQY63XRmFd

Double standards are a speciality with Rae. Typically Ryan Porteous put in a potentially career ending challenge on Joe Aribo while John Lundstram delivered a hard but fare tackle on Josh Doig.
Steven Gerrard’s side have had four players red carded in Europa League matches this season, the last domestic red card was in December 2019.
