Callum McGregor has been dropped to the bench for Scotland’s World Cup qualifier in the Faroes tonight.

Steve Clarke has made three changes to the side that beat Israel on Saturday with the Celtic midfielder missing out alongside the injured Che Adams and Nathan Patterson.

McGregor just returned to the Celtic side against Bayer Leverkusen after a four match absence following an injury during the September internationals.

Ange Postecoglou won’t be upset that his captain is missing out tonight’s match, on his return from international duty McGregor will lead Celtic away to Motherwell on Saturday quickly followed by Tuesday’s Europa League match at home to Ferencvaros.

A win in the Faroes will keep Scotland on course for a Play Off place for next year’s World Cup Finals in Qatar.

During the summer McGregor was the only Scotland player to score at the European Championships with Scotland finishing bottom of their group despite playing two matches at Hampden.

    Great news.

What would be even better news if Celtic players ceased making themselves available for an organisation who despises the club they play for and who do everything in their power to hinder the aspirations of Celtic FC.

Now, that would be good news.
