Steven Gerrard has posed for pictures with the Union Bears while the group is under investigation over a racist march through Glasgow city centre on August 29.
Chanting their favoured Famine Song as they were given a police escort along Argle Street social media footage forced Police Scotland into action with the last report being that nine of the hundreds of marchers had been arrested.
Apparently a ‘Capo’ was standing down from the Onion Bares with Gerrard deciding to recognise the unique backing that his players get from that section of supporters.
In 2019 UEFA twice closed the section of Ibrox used by the Bares after racist singing was heard at Europa League qualifiers. The SFA, SPFL and SPL has never taken action against a club for racist actions from supporters.

Conor Goldson standing next to ‘Stand with the Banned’ Union Bears’ banner.
This was related to ‘The Famine Song’ march through the city centre.
@PeterAdamSmith talks about ‘perception’ and clubs and players being complicit without calling it out.
What message does that send? pic.twitter.com/fPaYKrNouY— Lint (@Zeshankenzo) October 3, 2021
