Ryan Porteous has started 94 matches for Hibs and been sent off in two of them.
Spookily Nick Walsh was the referee in both matches, even spookier Steven Gerrard was in charge of the opponents when Porteous was red carded.
Yesterday’s sending off at Ibrox was pivotal to the outcome of the match. Leading 1-0 at the time, Scott Allan, their creativity influence was sacrificed in the reshuffle with the home side battling back to win 2-1.
Hibs TV pundit Tam McManus wasn’t impressed, as further information came to light he took to Twitter.
I said at the time today that Porteous previous tackle on Barisic (shocker & definitely a red) at Easter Road in 2019 definitely influenced the referee today. Now it makes complete & utter sense.
Same ref. He’s seen who it is and immediately the red is out again. pic.twitter.com/QchXxsQ6pI

Walsh is one of the rising stars in the Scottish refereeing network. Apparently from a Celtic supporting background he gave Callum McGregor a first half red card in his first Glasgow derby last season.
Two weeks later he was back at Ibrox for the visit of Aberdeen, finishing the season off at Hampden taking charge of the Scottish Cup Final between St Johnstone and Hibs.
In his day job Walsh is a PE teacher.
