It was only a Europa League match but Celtic fans witnessed a goal against Ferencvaros that any team in Champions League action would be delighted with.
The effort of getting to Celtic Park for a midweek afternoon armed with a Vaccine Passport was rewarded in the 57th minute with a wonder goal from Kyogo Furuhashi.
There were three touches involved in the goal as two of Ange Postecoglou’s new signings combined t devastating effect.
Taking the ball from deep in his own half Jota advanced towards the halfway line then delivered a pass that was perfect in every way. Kyogo Furuhashi controlled it on the bounce then instinctively fired a low shot into the net to give Celtic the lead against Ferencvaros.
David Turnbull scored a second that wasn’t of the same quality but with a win on the board Celtic’s Europa League adventure is well underway.
