Karamoko Dembele looks like he’ll be out of action until the new year after the teenager took to Instagram.
An image with a pair of boots or indication of when he will resume training would have been welcome, instead he shared an image from a hospital bed after undergoing ankle surgery.
Karamoko was with the first team squad for pre-season matches in Wales when he was injured in the July 14 friendly against Bristol City.
Mikey Johnston was injured in the same match but while he has returned to first team action it appears to have been a frustrating three months for his younger team-mate.
It seems like ankle surgery was being resisted but now that he has gone under the knife the rehab process can begin.
With his Celtic contract expiring at the end of the season there could be some delicate negotiations ahead for all parties.
