Celtic fans have been less than impressed by the prospect of owning a piece of memorabilia from last season.

It could have been a historic season for the club but by the time that Jonjoe Kenny arrived at the end of January hoops fans were just wanting to be put out of their misery.

Signing a recent England u-21 internationalist that had spent the previous season on loan at Schalke should have provided a ready-made replacement for Jeremie Frimpong.

Kenny started impressively enough in a 4-0 win away to Kilmarnock but before February was out Neil Lennon had resigned as a grim season got worse with a second defeat from Ross County.

March got even worse for loanee and player, leading 1-0 in a Glasgow derby Kenny tried a pass-back from the half-way line, conceded a corner and seconds later Alfredo Morelos broke his derby duck- Kenny had failed to track the striker.

The remaining two months of the season are a fairly dull memory for most Celtic fans but someone will have a signed boot to remind them of the Nightmare of 2020/21.

Back at Everton this season Kenny has made two appearances in cup ties as well as a 10 minute outing away to Aston Villa in a 3-0 EPL defeat for Rafa Benitez’s side.
