Cameron Carter-Vickers is open to making his move to Celtic a permanent deal.

At the end of the summer window the defender moved on a season long loan to Celtic and was pitched straight into the side alongside Carl Starfelt.

Carter-Vickers has teamed up with Stephen Welsh in Celtic’s last three matches and faces his toughest test as a Celtic player tonight when they visit the Bay Arena to take on Bayer Leverkusen.

A point is needed to maintain Celtic’s hopes of progressing in the Europa League with a team that is virtually unrecognisable from the one that flopped spectacularly in last season’s competition under Neil Lennon.

Under Ange Postecoglou there seems to be more purpose about the way that Celtic are playing with Carter-Vickers admitting that his stay in Glasgow could last beyond the current season.

Discussing his future and the prospect of an extended stay, he told the Daily Record:

It’s something that I’m open to but I haven’t given it much thought at this stage, to be fair. I still have plenty of games left in this season and that is my focus.

I have really enjoyed it. The staff and the players have been really good with me and that’s helped me. It’s still early days but for me personally – and as a team – we’ve got to keep going and keep the consistency.

For me at the moment, I’m here at Celtic, I’m a Celtic player, so my focus is more on impressing the manager here and trying to get results for Celtic.

Carter-Vickers signed a two year contract extension at Spurs just before moving on loan to Celtic.
