Adidas appear set to launch another new line in Celtic kit in time for the Christmas market.

It seems that sales of all Celtic related items since launch in July 2020 have caught the attention of Adidas executives who have latched on to a strong market outside of the traditional summer launch of three strips.

Teamgeist first appeared at the 2006 World Cup in Germany with Adidas reviving the design for their elite clubs next week. Global clubs such as Ajax, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Boca Juniors are among the Adidas elite but the volume of sales generated by Celtic fans has forced them into the festive launch.

FootyHeadlines, the acknowledged ‘Bible’ for strip and kit releases claims:

Celtic’s new 2021-22 Teamgeist uniform is set to be launched in December, together with the other Adidas Teamgeist shirts.

Adidas and Celtic could have a kit issue coming up for the League Cup Final on December 18.

Up until the turn of the century Celtic and Hibs played each other wearing their traditional kits but with commercialism so high both the away team has changed kit going as far back as the 2001 Scottish up Final.

All three of Celtic’s current kits clash to a degree with the Hibs home strip, when Ange Postecoglou’s side played at Easter Road they had to use a strip from last season.

There seems little obvious clash between hoops and a mainly green Hibs kit with white sleaves but it remains to be seen what kits are on show in the Bertie Auld Final at Hampden.
