Three of Europe’s top clubs are ready to battle it out with Aston Villa to snap up Nathan Patterson.

The 20-year-old has started just four SPFL matches in his career but already the hype surrounding the defender has exceeded that which welcomed John Fleck, Young McCrory, Lewis MacLeod and David Bates when they made a couple of appearances at Ibrox.

In four Scotland appearances this season totalling 277 playing minutes Patterson managed to pick up two bookings which saw him suspended for last night’s match against group winners Denmark.

Steven Gerrard has been at Villa for less than a week and already been linked with Glen Kamara and Ryan Kent.

Moving for the player that has spent the season on the bench watching James Tavernier seems unlikely but website 90 min decided to take the Patterson hype even further.

Now we can confirm that some of the continent’s top clubs have also been watching Patterson this season, including Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint Germain.

The player is a huge fan of Gerrard after he gave him his debut at Ibrox and he would find it hard to reject linking up again. The same goes for Kamara, who has emerged as a real talent under the new Villa boss.

With his lack of playing time this season it is doubtful whether Patterson is a huge fan o Gerrard.

In February Patterson was fined for attending a house party while Scotland was in Tier Four restrictions, in April the SFA handed him a four match suspension, once Tavernier had recovered from injury.

It would be great if the likes of Bayern, PSG and Atletico just put statements straight out there to say we’ve no idea who he is, no interest in him and no idea where the journalist who wrote this shite got his info from.
Its time these Sevco cheerleaders in the Scottish media were called out each and every time for the charlatans they really are.
Embarrass the feckers, if that’s even at all possible.

Unreal, great you highlighted the suspension after Tavenier returned, really raises questions about the SFA, makes it look so obvious why the delay, was it to help the Ibrox club get a crack at champions league money to help the financial woes

the two months delay to deal with the covid breach was a disgrace but in all honesty it was not a surprise. when they ignored the rules at murray park before the season started the outcome was that every club had to have players tested twice thereby doubling the cost of testing which many could ill afford. every club paid for one club ignoring the rules a shocking decision. then we had two games postponed on the whim of the first minister where no such rule existed. the celtic board to their shame just sat back in silence.

The rangers pr team leaking bull$,hit about teams after the young lad Patterson who is not a bad player desparate for money to keep the club solvent. Regarding the hunt for a coach/manager when they are given what is required cutting everything to the bone selling players a must getting rid of the high earners going to be a tough job for whoever the get.also Mike Ashley watching what going on I suspect if they survive till next st time he will go for ring fence for his money as he is waiting for the courts decide the amount the rangers owe but don’t worry as there ceo said they will be in profit next year but now investors and backers don’t want anymore shares but interest on any money they put in to the rangers 2012 shares worth in the real world of finance about 2 pence really confetti worth nowt.

I actually think Paterson looks very decent, really athletic up and down that right hand side. He will be away from ibrox in that not to distant future. Scored a decent goal for Scotland other night. They will need the money soon, so a certainty he will be away.
