Celtic fans have been warned that pandemic regulations are being tightened in the North Rhine Westphalia state of Germany next week.

Around 2,000 fans are expected to make the trip to Leverkusen as Ange Postecoglou’s side look for a third successive Europa League win to make the final group match against Real Betis a decider.

It is 21 months since Celtic fans were able to support their team in Copenhagen but the travel situation is fast moving with restrictions being tightened across Europe including Holland, Germany and Austria.

Earlier in the campaign Celtic were given the green light to take tickets for the match away to Real Betis but a week before the match those tickets were cancelled.

Away to Ferencvaros there was never an allocation of tickets but the attractions of Budapest are strong with over 500 fans making the trip while many with European Vaccine Passports were able to buy tickets and watch the match.
