Galatasaray join Roma and Lyon in battle to sign Ibrox wonder boy

Galatasaray have joined the ever expanding list of clubs poised to sign Ianis Hagi.

The 23-year-old was born in Turkey while his Dad spent five years with Gala following a transfer from Barcelona.

Ianis hasn’t got anywhere close to the standards set by his father but that hasn’t prevented constant speculation that he is poised to join a big club.

In September Roma were preparing an £18m bid, over the weekend Lyon were keeping tabs ahead of a £9m offer being put in when the transfer window opens in January.

The Daily Record reports:

Rangers star Ianis Hagi is reportedly of interest to Galatasaray, with a meeting set to discuss his future in January.

The Romanian international is seen as a rising star and has already been linked with Serie A giants Roma.

While Rangers will be keen to hang on to the 23-year-old, the club have been open about the fact they need to start bringing in funds via player trading.

And Turkish outlet Sabah Spor is reporting that Galatasaray will meet the Ibrox club to discuss a potential deal in January.

Hagi has been open about his dream to play for the Istanbul club, with his father, Gheorghe, holding mythical status at Gala.

The 23-year-old wonder boy was started nine SPFL matches this season, scoring one goal.
