Kris Boyd returned to the screen last night with the former Kilmarnock striker popping up on Sky Sports News.

Normally Sky viewers can get daily updates on all things Scottish football from Boyd but this week he had been keeping a low profile.

BT Sport had exclusive coverage of last night’s Europa League action with Celtic losing a five goal thriller to Bayer Leverkusen to end their hopes of progress in that competition.

That seemed to be a source of amusement for Boyd with the Daily Record quickly picking up on his reaction.

Getting knocked out of the Europa League is a blow for Celtic but compared to the side that lost out in extra-time to Midtjylland in July the difference is night and day.

Jota, Kyogo Furuhashi, Joe Hart and Josip Juranovic hadn’t kicked a ball for Celtic back in July but next month they’ll have the chance to claim the first trophy of the season when they meet Hibs in the League Cup Final.

That match will be live on Premier Sports with Boyd again watching from the sidelines.

Don’t have a problem with it to be honest, if bee give it out, got to be able to take it back. Big Sutton doe it constantly, that’s the nature of the beast. I’ll look forward to our cup final win though HH
