Hearts have promised to launch an investigation after The Sash was played over the club PA system during an open day at Tynecastle during an Open Day.

The loyalist anthem is a fans’ favourite at Ibrox but even there it doesn’t get near the PA system despite all the nods of approval such as orange kits and support for the Union Bears inside the club.

The Tynecastle Open Day was arranged by the Foundation of Hearts who recently took over the club with contributions from supporters pushing towards £13m since the club went into administration in 2014.

It seems that someone in a position of authority thought that providing access to the stadium PA would be fine with someone else keen to associate the club with the Loyalist element of north east Ireland.

Ann Budge remains as CEO of Hearts and has previously been critical of visiting fans that don’t fit in with the family image that the Edinburgh club like to portray.

In 2011 a Hearts fan was able to walk along the touchline at Tynecastle to physically attack Neil Lennon with thousands of home fans cheering the action.
