Hibs are pushing the SPFL to postpone their re-arranged match against Ross County that is scheduled for Wednesday night.

Five players are reported to be self-isolating with one eye witness claiming that some players weren’t wearing masks the night before the game at their hotel in Inverness.

Tests on Saturday morning revealed some positive tests with the SPFL calling off the match at Dingwall four hours before kick-off.

In January the SPFL insisted that Celtic fulfil fixtures against Hibs and Livingston after 14 players were made to self-isolate after social distancing rules were changed by the Scottish authorities.

The Daily Record reports:

Hibs’ rearranged trip to face Ross County on Wednesday night is still in doubt as the Easter Road club await the latest round of test results. The Easter Road club this afternoon cancelled their pre-match press conference at short notice.

And Record Sport understands the club remain in talks with SPFL chiefs over pushing the game further back. Hibs are angry at being forced to play the match so soon after Saturday’s original scheduled fixtures was postponed due to a C***d outbreak among Jack Ross ’ squad.

Five players plus a member of staff are isolating. And with five more top team stars unavailable through injury it left the Hibees in a situation where they couldn’t field a team.

Members of their under 18 side were prevented from being called up due to the fact they had played less than 24 hours earlier on the Friday night.

Celtic have been using six coaches to travel to away matches to ensure that they comply with social distancing rules. It isn’t known how many coaches Hibs took on their trip to Inverness on Friday.
