Bernard Higgins is rumoured to be starting his new role at Celtic on January 5.
The claim comes from the highly respected Celtic Underground Twitter account, over the last decade they have picked up over 70,000 followers on social media.
As recently as Wednesday Celtic shareholders were warning the board of the backlash that they will face if Higgins takes up a role within the club.

In the two domestic fixtures before the international break very visible protests were made against the likely appointment of Higgins.
Celtic played the first 30 minutes of the home match against Livingston in virtual silence as other fans joined the Green Brigade in protest.
Away to Dundee the match was held up due to a tennis ball protest as the Celtic board were told that the next move over Higgins is in their court.
Higgins is strongly linked with the way that the Offensive Behaviour at Football Grounds Act was enforced on Celtic fans, in 2018 it was repealed by the Scottish Parliament.
The Celtic Board members are thick, they have no insight into their stupidity.
The performance of the team has no interest for them.
Not only has Higgins proved himself to be a balloon but he as also shown himself to be dangerous one regarding Celtic fans
But then as mere fans what do we know ?
The contempt shown at the AGM and lack of accountability showed just how wide the gulf between fans and the piranhas who feed of us is
If higgins is appointed we as fans need to collectively boycott all merchandise including shirts / match day programmes / pools/ promotions, absolutely everything and yes even your pies and bovril

Well its now time us celtic fans started a big protest outsie paradise if this higgins gets stated in January listen we know that the celtic board aren’t interested in the celtic fans only our money they want we all seen in 2012 when old ranjurs got liquidated and a few months after mr corrupt Doncaster came out shouting they’re still the same club the board at paradise said fuck all and done fuck all about it that new club stopped our 10inarow spending they never had and p.lawwell sat on his fat tory arse denying he never seen the 5way agreement so lets get a protest our boycott untill that board has changed wake up before its to late and they cheats at liebrox start there 3rd club way oldco history again.
