After watching his new club crash to defeat to Hibs at Hampden Giovanni van Bronckhorst is already under fire from one Ibrox hero.

Kevin Thompson left the comfort of Murray Park last summer to take charge of Kelty Hearts in League Two as he took on his first taste of management.

Yesterday he was on duty for Premier Sports as the bears rolled into Hampden to celebrate the arrival of their new messiah by crushing Hibs.

The orange robbed supporters were in for a shock as last season’s heroes were taken apart in the first half as Hibs went in at the interval 3-1 ahead.

Van Bronckhorst’s arrival at Hampden had been treated as a state visit with Premier Sports constantly cutting away to his seat in the stand alongside Ross ‘wee man’ Wilson and the rest of the Ibrox big-wigs.

Most proper managers would have ditched their plans to confront the team at half-time in the dressing room in a bid to spark a reaction out of 11 players showing a distinct lack of interest and professional pride.

Not Sir Gio however. Rather than get hands on with his new job he opted for a round of pies and a few drinks with Douglas Park in the Hampden hospitality.

Thompson wasn’t impressed with the Daily Record picking up on his comments to Premier Sports:

In my opinion I would have been waiting for them at half-time. This team needed a reaction and I’m not so sure David McCallum is the man to give them that.

If I was van Bronckhorst I would have been in there waiting for them. Rangers just look vulnerable when it comes down the side and with balls in the box.

They are vulnerable at the back Rangers, which is the opposite of what they were last year. They conceded very few goals and were really solid.

Now this season, for whatever reason, the back four are not on the same wavelength and they look really disjointed. Hibs exploited them

Van Bronckhorst will visit Murray Park today before being introduced to bought and paid for media partners on Tuesday.

Think Thompson should check out his comments.
Van Bronkhurst is not British, and therfor requires a work.permit, which I believe was not granted until Monday.
If that’s true, Van Bronkhurst and sevco would have been subject to legal action.
Irrespective, if Van bronkhurst HAD gone in at ht and read the riot act, he would then have undermined mcCallum and the staff chosen to oversee the match…..and been a part of a match that the orcs would have lost anyway…..not a great start……
He can start losing Thursday…..on his own.

Will Thompson be shouting.fir someone to come in the dressing room then ?,
