Ange Postecoglou has admitted that Celtic would be more than happy to keep Jota if the winger wishes to make a permanent move to Scotland.

Celtic negotiated a complex loan deal with Benfica on transfer deadline day that includes a clause detailing a permanent transfer fee which includes a substantial sell-on clause if Jota was to follow the well worn path from Celtic to the EPL.

After an unconvincing season with Real Valladolid last season Jota has barely put a foot wrong since joining Celtic with a string of goals and assists.

As Paddy Roberts discovered five years ago Celtic can provide the perfect platform for a winger with Jota appearing very happy with his life on and off the pitch.

Interviewing Postecoglou after the match BBC Scotland reports:

[Jota] is doing really well, he’s got so much talent. My job is to make him the best possible player he can be. If he feels that this is the place for his future then we’d be more than happy to keep him.

Jota’s form at Celtic is bound to have alerted other clubs to his situation at Benfica but if Celtic can win the SPFL title the lure of Champions League football under an attack minded coach might be difficult to resist.

With Odsonne Edouard and Kris Ajer quickly impressing in the EPL Jota can be assured that making an impact at Celtic is being noted in the most lucrative league in the world.
