Ally McCoist missed out on a big European night at Ibrox- as he looked on from a studio three miles away at a deserted Celtic Park.
There weren’t many gags coming from the chunky pundit as he assessed the win over Sparta Prague without being able to pick up on the stadium atmosphere.
With Chris Sutton denied access to Ibrox BT Sport opted to base their Europa League double bill coverage from elsewhere rather than allow angry Ibrox fans to dictate their choice of pundits.
When BT Sport went on air last night Darrell Currie read out a bland, non-committal statement that never mentioned Sutton by name.
Following their coverage of the Celtic match from Germany Sutton and Stan Petrov made a sharp exit with McCoist and Davie Weir taking their place.
The result of @RangersFC‘s #EveryoneAnyone campaign means that Rangers legend Ally McCoist needs to broadcast from Celtic Park is an irony nobody predicted. ??? pic.twitter.com/g7jSRT0lnz
