Charlie Adam has claimed that Alfredo Morelos could attract a bid of £6-8m in the January transfer window.
The chunky striker has endured a nightmare season after delaying his return from the close season to miss the Champions League qualifying tie away to Malmo.
Although Morelos scored against the Swedes in the return leg- and celebrated the next day on social media- his side lost home and away to miss out on a £40m jackpot.
Eight transfer windows have now come and gone since the infamous bid from a mystery club from China with no club prepared to match the Dembele Dollars price tag that Stewart Robertson put on Morelos’ head.
After another horror show at Hampden on Sunday some fans are beginning to question the worth of their star man with the Daily Record reporting on the thoughts of Adam:
When asked how close he was to bringing in the £16million offered by Lille previously, the Dundee captain told the PLZ Football Show: “I think he is miles away from it. Maybe the hunger is gone. He has to find that burning desire in his belly again, because he is the focal point when he is up there scoring the goals.
“When he is playing well, throwing people around and bullying them, playing off the shoulder, he is a hand full. Rangers will be hoping he can get back to that sooner rather than later, and a new manager coming in might just have to tell him a few harsh words and ignite something.”
When pushed for a valuation on Morelos if he was to leave in January, Dundee skipper Adam added: “Because he is a goalscorer I think he will get interest. You’re talking £6million, £8million maybe.”
Adam has now fully recovered from an attempted shoulder charge on Tony Ralston.
King insists even a £40m bid wouldn’t tempt club to sell Morelos in January https://t.co/tCa46IPd74
