Joe Hart and Rod Stewart were among those congratulating Tony Ralston on his new four year Celtic contract.
The defender was out in the wilderness but grabbed his chance- and jersey- in pre-season and hasn’t looked back under new boss Ange Postecoglou.
Hart was brought in a fortnight into the new season and has quickly formed an understanding with Ralston who has specialised in scoring spectacular goals and equally eye-catching last ditch clearances.
Ralston has barely blinked at the arrival of Josip Juranovic with the Croatian internationalist switched to left-back for all but one of his Celtic appearances.
Turning 23 later this month the Academy kid has already gone through the full range of emotions as a Celtic player with contrasting fortunes under three different managers.
Alongside Callum McGregor it looks like Ralston is with Celtic for the long haul with home based players essential to the plans that Postecoglou is putting in place.
