Two stories that the mainstream don’t want to go near

|

Two major stories are missing from the mainstream today, stories that were all over social media from 5pm onwards yesterday.

These days mainstream publishers constantly scan social media for content, the most trivial tweet or Instagram post can quickly be transformed into a story to generate clicks and advertising revenue.

After the 2-1 win over Aberdeen yesterday a sit-in by members of the Green Brigade was given coverage by the traditional publishers.

Causing a bigger storm across social media was the incidents involving a Green Brigade Food Bank collection.

There are a number of accounts given on Twitter over what happened. Some of the pictures on social media can’t be used but the story can be checked out and published. Sadly, even The National have opted not to cover the incidents.

On a different level numerous references to Tommy Burns appeared on twitter yesterday. Anyone looking for a news story has a couple of videos to choose from. The videos surfaced very quickly after yesterday’s match at Livingston, it is quite a stretch to suggest that they have all been doctored, from a variety of angles, singing in unison.
