Video: Watch Bobby Madden send Funso Ojo off for being attacked by a fan

Bobby Madden hit a new low today when he sent off Funso Ojo for being attacked by a Dundee United fan at Tannadice today.

The Lanarkshire based referee has turned in some very puzzling performances this season, last month he managed to award 27 free-kicks against Celtic while the hoops had 62% possession away to Aberdeen.

Madden refereed three of Celtic’s first 12 SPFL matches, in the opener he refused to book his close friend Andy Halliday for a brutal attack on the ankle of Callum McGregor.

Today, Madden red carded Callum Butcher of Dundee United in the 42nd minute, three minutes later Ojo hurdled an advertising hoarding, as he put the brakes on approaching the crowd one United fan raced forward to aggressively push the Dons midfielder.

Having booked Ojo in the 40th minute the second yellow equalled red with both sides down to 10 men, at the interval Madden red carded Dons boss Stephen Glass.

Ojo will now be suspended for Sunday’s visit to Celtic, in the 80th minute of today’s game Ian Harkes scored the only goal of the game for Dundee United.
