Celtic are reported to be well down the road to signing Reo Hatate when the January transfer windows opens.
The report comes from Stephen McGowan in the Daily Mail who has a long track record of being very close to Celtic transfer activities.
Hatate will be out of contract at the end of January 2022 meaning that a token fee could see him become a Celtic player that month or join as a free agent in February.

Ange Postecoglou has gone on record as saying that January, during the close season, is the best time to recruit from the J-League with the Celtic boss appearing to have firm ideas about what his squad requires.
Hatate is described as a left-back or left-sided midfielder, over the last month Celtic have been playing Josip Juranovic out of position at left-back.
Greg Taylor recently signed a new contract but the signing of Hatate would reduce the chances of Adam Montgomery and Liam Scales getting much playing time.
