Ange Postecoglou has finally spoken out after ‘a few went against us’ while Celtic fans vented their anger at Alan Muir despite their last gasp win over Ross County.

The two yellow cards issued to Carl Starfelt were a focus for criticism but throughout the 90 plus minutes there was a constant stream of baffling decisions.

Celtic had 75% possession according to BBC Scotland, three times as much possession but managed to commit 13 fouls compared to just nine from their opponents.

Typically Ross County players could arrive late into the tackle and be given the benefit of the doubt, after all they are up against far more skilled and better paid opponents.

When Starfelt complained about getting a bloodied nose and Muir’s refusal to stop play to deal with a head knock he was booked. Within 10 minutes he picked up another yellow card and was off the park.

Ross County hadn’t had any players booked before Starfelt, within five minutes of booking the Swede Muir suddenly became card happy with Jack Burroughs and Dom Samuel also booked.

The Sun reports the Celtic boss saying:

I don’t think we got the rub of the decisions tonight, a few went against us. I said to the boys we won’t complain about it, we will just win games and let that speak for itself.

A few went against us tonight but we just keep going, playing our football and keep winning.

In stoppage time Muir denied Celtic a penalty when a Callum McGregor shot was blocked by an elbow. Fortunately the hoops scored, eventually, from the corner but it didn’t fully deflect attention from the woeful performance of the match referee.

  • Stevie says:

Not up to Ange to complain.
We’ve got a board of directors and their only benefit to us is keeping the comfy seats warm.

  • Joseph Mcaleer says:

Joe, are teams deliberately going out to kick Celtic off the pitch knowing that Celtic don’t get any protection from the Referee’s.

Editor: A very logical conclusion to make. If you watched the Dundee United and Motherwell matches and managed Ross County you could be very certain that you won’t get a red card for ‘leaving one on’ a Celtic player.

See Butcher attack on Turnbull, Mugabe body check on Rogic. Jeremie Frimpong was booted out of Scottish football from Alan Power, Devante Cole, Alfredo Morelos and others.

  • Fun time frankie says:

I,m sorry Ange but statements link ( a few went against us don’t do any good the board and yourself must speak out) you have the best platform every time were on live tv tell the world exactly what you think of the SFA AND ITS OFFICIALS and maybe someone will take some action.

But I will not be holding my breath.

  • Nigel O Kane says:

What would you expect from a pig but a grunt…to be fair, it’s insulting to pigs to compare them to SFA “referees”….
