Kerr McInroy made it three goals in three games last night as he netted the only goal of the game for Airdrie against Queens Park. It was a rasper according to one Diamonds fan.Â
The midfielder slipped out of Celtic on loan after the transfer window had closed. After last season at Dunfermline moving down a division didn’t look good but he has taken his opportunity in style.Â
Moving to his home-town club started out well, McInroy was Man of the Match in a home win over Hearts and picked up a Scotland u-21 cap in the early part of the season but it seems that everything collapsed at East End Park in the second half of the season.
McInroy is everything that you want in a central midfielder. Energetic, box to box, a good tackler and as recent games illustrate he knows his way to goal.Â

The Fifer came through the ranks in Celtic’s 2000 age group alongside Stephen Welsh and Jack Aitchison. He broke into the Reserve/Development side during the 2016/17 season and seemed on course for the top when he was listed as a first team substitute against St Johnstone in February 2018.Â
His progress was dealt a blow in April 2019 when he suffered ACL damage in a reserve match against Motherwell, his return 10 months later came just as Lockdown was bringing football to a halt.Â
McInroy made a good impression playing at left-back in pre-season friendlies against Hibs and Ross County but like most young players he dropped out of contention when the competitive business started.Â
With Airdrie now in third place and showing promotion form they will be anxious to hold on to their loan midfielder but in January almost anything is possible with other clubs bound to be aware of the impact that the 21-year-old is having.Â
