Stephen Welsh will return to the Celtic squad to face Real Betis tomorrow night after missing the 3-0 win over Dundee United on Sunday but James Forrest drops out through injury.

Welsh is likely to replace the suspended Cameron Carter-Vickers, making his third successive appearance in the group phase of the Europa League.

Liel Abada is expected to take over from Forrest on the right with the veteran winger likely to be in contention for Sunday’s SPFL match against Motherwell.

Stephen Welsh is fine, he’s OK so he’s available, Tony Ralston, probably not for tomorrow night. James Forrest, he came off at the weekend but again it’s nothing serious, we won’t risk him for the game tomorrow night. The rest are all longer term out.

Postecoglou is expected to rotate his squad with Callum McGregor, David Turnbull and Kyogo Furuhashi most in need of a breather.

Celtic still have eight matches to get through before they reach the winter break with Jota looking to have joined Chris Jullian and Giorgos Giakoumakis out of contention for those fixtures.

The on-loan Benfica winger will definitely miss the League Cup Final on December 19 against Hibs with Postecoglou sounding unlikely to try and push for Jota’s return ahead of the break which runs from January 2-22.
