Ange Postecoglou has brushed aside a minor issue at Celtic with a gentle put down for one of his summer signings.

When the transfer window opened bringing in a right-back or better still two seemed to be a priority. Things had got so bad last season that Jonjoe Kenny had finished as a regular in the team.

Quietly Tony Ralston started to make his mark. The search for a right-back eventually led to Josip Juranovic but by the time that he signed born-again Ralston was delivering outstanding performances in the problem position.

Juranovic is the regular right-back for Croatia, with a World Cup place booked but has only made one appearance in that position at Celtic.

Over the last month the 26-year-old has had to get used to playing at left-back, at his own media conference yesterday he admitted that he saw his long term future at Celtic as a right-back.

Ange had his own take.

Asked about his reaction to Juranovic’s comments

Glad he sees a long term future, that’s the main thing. I’m pretty sure that Josip will allow me to select the team rather than him making the decisions. We’ll see how we go.

With Greg Taylor pictured back in training Postecoglou may soon have another option at left-back to allow a little rotation during a packed month.

First couple of minutes lots of positional questions.

If you watch Josip’s interview he never demanded anything. Just a nonsense post!
