Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Celtic’s medical team believe that Kyogo Furuhashi is 2-3 weeks away from playing again.
That timeline would rule him out of next Sunday’s League Cup Final against Hibs and make the January 2 Glasgow Derby a borderline decision.
A report last night in the Daily Record suggested that the striker was a contender for the final and hadn’t been ruled out of today’s match against Motherwell with the situation being monitored daily.
After today’s 1-0 win over Motherwell the Celtic boss was quick to dampen down expectations of a Hampden reappearance for Celtic’s top scorer.
Ange on Kyogo: “If you ask Kyogo if he’s fit for the final, he’ll tell you yes, if you ask the physio team they’ll say 2-3 weeks.”

With no sign of Albian Ajeti or Giorgos Giakoumakis Celtic are now effectively without a striker going into the six match programme before the January break.
James Forrest added to the injury problems when he went off after 18 minutes of today’s win leaving Postecoglou effectively looking to find a false 9 for the remainder of this month- and the first game of 2022.
If kyogo not fit for rangers game, I can’t see us winning that, to be honest. They look hard to beat under van bronckhorst. We are having to many injuries for my liking, that needs to be addressed.
