Anthony Joseph has claimed that the fee for Celtic to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis would be £6m.

The defender joined the hoops on loan at the end of August and has missed only one match since, playing alongside Stephen Welsh and Carl Starfelt. Carter-Vickers is suspended for tonight’s match against Real Betis.

Under Daniel Levy Spurs are notorious for driving hard bargains in the transfer market with every loophole covered to prevent any deal coming back to haunt them.

Whatever the transfer fee is it is very likely that Spurs will have a significant sell-on clause with other payments possibly due if Celtic are playing in the Champions League.

Celtic will have similar clauses in the deals to sell Odsonne Edouard and Kris Ajer during the summer as they have in the past.

Ultimately any permanent deal will be settled by the player, Carter-Vickers might be head-over-heels in love with his new life in Glasgow or looking to make as big an impression as possible to secure a permanent transfer in England next summer. Celtic is the seventh club that Spurs have sent the 23-year-old out on loan to.
