Celtic fans react to Ibrox Penalty Bingo
It was only ever a matter of timing. When things are tight there are few more certainties in Scottish football than Tavpen popping up to save the day.
As recently as Wednesday Alan Muir had shown that when the ball strikes an arm in the penalty box he is likely to miss the contact, Celtic got a corner.
At Ibrox today he missed a handball from Scott McMann but didn’t hesitate to accept the word of his assistant who signalled for a penalty. Tavpen scored.
Half of the clubs in the SFL Premiership have suffered already, Hibs doubly with a red card for Ryan Porteous followed by a penalty for a Ryan Kent dive in the return fixture.
This season’s SPFL winners go into the group stage of the Champions League, £30-40m decided by honest mistakes.

The Rangers penalty was the correct decision, what angers fans is the inconsistency, as the same ref never gave a pen to Celtic midweek for a clear handball and hearts also denied a stone wall penalty for a clear hand ball against The Rangers last week. Something needs done @spfl
