Celtic fans were in agreement with Robbie Neilson about strange decisions in last night’s match against Hearts- but they were looking at different incidents.

The Tynecastle gaffer was raging about the goal scored by Celtic, convinced that it should have been disallowed for offside while former Hearts captain Christoph Berra watched multiple replays and declared that it was too close to call.

Once again Bobby Madden managed to award more free-kicks against Celtic despite Ange Postecoglou’s side having the majority of possession. With the hoops on the ball 69% of the time they managed to commit 12 fouls while Hearts had nine fouls awarded against them.

In the early minutes Barrie Mackay had a kick at the shins of Tony Ralston without any action taken. Peter Haring almost literally had a running battle with Tom Rogic throughout the match but barely had a free-kick awarded against him.

It took until the 85th minute for Madden to reach for a card, showing Adam Montgomery a yellow for a foul that was no worse than many that had gone unpunished.

Madden certainly made puzzling decisions, in his previous appointment he sent off Funso Ojo after he had been struck by a Dundee United fan that had raced from his seat to confront the Aberdeen midfielder.
