Every time he steps onto a pitch right now he puts an extra digit on the end! Barry Ferguson loses the plot over Ibrox ace

Barry Ferguson believes that Joe Aribo is adding £10m more to his valuation with every appearance against Hearts, St Johnstone and Dundee.

The former Charlton midfielder is now getting the full pre Transfer Window treatment from the media as they attempt to celebrate the first million pound deal out of Ibrox since Wigan Athletic swooped for Josh Windass.

A year ago Juventus and Roma were battling it out to sign Glen Kamara, there has been eight transfer windows of Alfredo Morelos speculation with others like Ryan Kent, Borna Barisic and Connor Goldson featuring regularly.

Aribo has 18 months left on his contract with Ferguson explaining Aribo’s importance to Daily Record readers:

It’s so vital he hangs around for at least the rest of the current campaign because it seems inevitable now that someone is going to come knocking when the window opens, be it Steven Gerrard or some other manager from England’s top flight.

They all know Rangers are looking to trade their top players because the board has been pretty open about it. If an offer comes in that matches the club’s valuation then they’ll do business.

But Aribo should be the exception to the rule. I’d put a price tag of around £15million on him at this moment, which is £5m more than I would have said just a few weeks ago.

Every time he steps onto a pitch right now he puts an extra digit on the end!

Even if Gerrard or whoever else comes in with a bid in that ball park, Rangers would be better off telling them to stick it where the sun don’t shine.

Arithmetic and tax returns have never been one of Barry’s strengths. Alloa, the team that he cares for, are currently sixth in League One, two points above Dumbarton in the relegation play-off position.

Aribo is expected to be showcasing his talent at the African Cup of Nations throughout January.
