The controversy over the Celtic v Hearts match shows no sign of fading away- especially when new incidents are constantly being highlighted.

John Souttar pinching into Kyogo Furuhashi’s stomach was certainly a bit different, strangely it escaped the attention of Kris Boyd as he focussed on one incident in his post-match analysis for Sky Sports.

From an early kick on Tony Ralston’s shin by Barrie Mackay the incidents flowed- with one in the 84th minute drawing plenty of attention. If Mackay was more accurate with his shooting it would have become the biggest talking point.

Liam Boyce raised his hands after body-checking Adam Montgomery within a yard of the 18 yard line, it could have been a dangerous moment with Celtic having a few free-kick specialists.

Strangely no free-kick was given, within seconds Hearts were up the park with Celtic defenders, minus Montgomery. Chasing back desperately. Gary Mackay-Steven managed to trip himself up but the ball broke to Mackay who shot low and wide across goal.

Celtic fans were furious, from looking at a promising free kick one moment they were almost back on level terms seconds later. It wasn’t the best night of Madden’s career.

The Fearts and those of their ilk are the reason why Scottish football lags behind other nations who appreciate footballing skills rather than clugging and “gettininthurfaces”.

Of course, ably assisted by the football authorities and the Scoddish foodbaw meeja.

Scotland will never amount to anything as long as these dinosaur attitudes prevail.
