Ange Postecoglou has admitted that James Forrest wasn’t 100% fit for today’s 1-0 win over Motherwell.

The winger was replaced at half-time last Sunday away to Dundee United, missed out on the midweek win over Real Betis and returned to the starting XI for the visit of Graeme Alexander’s side.

Forrest could have scored in the first five minutes today but pulled up after 18 minutes to be replaced by Mikey Johnston.

Discussing Forrest, BBC Scotland reports the Celtic boss saying:

I’m not really sure, he felt something but I haven’t had a chance to speak to him. It’s disappointing. He wasn’t 100%, but we felt he was okay, he felt he was all right for the game today but it didn’t work out.

Over the previous three matches Jota, Albian Ajeti and Kyogo Furuhashi have all suffered hamstring injuries with Forrest now a concern although he may not have a full on hamstring injury.

Joey Dawson and Owen Moffat have trained with the first team since Friday but despite the lack of striking options neither of the B team prospects made it onto the bench today.

Postecoglou will give his next injury update on Tuesday when he previews Wednesday’s match away to Ross County.
