Celtic fans were delighted by Ange Postecoglou’s full on backing for Kyogo Furuhashi- and strong attack on the critics of his striker.
A growing campaign, probably initiated on social media has attempted to paint the Celtic striker as someone that goes down too easily in an attempt to win free-kicks and penalties and get opponents into bother.
As recently as last Thursday a video clip emerged that appeared to show John Souttar of Hearts grabbing Kyogo by the stomach with no action taken by the match officials.

Ange has a very personal way of dealing with these issues, the usual football-speak and manager-talk cliches are by-passed as he shares some very direct Australian based observations.
Before arriving in Scotland Postecoglou would have heard stories about the media scrutiny and attention that he’d be under as Celtic boss. It certainly isn’t for everyone but after the polite, analytical scrutiny that he was under in Japan it is a completely different environment that he has walked into in his new job
Brave warriors and ignorant people were the phrases used, that was probably the diplomatic and watered down thoughts of the Celtic manager. And the fans loved it, every word!

His response shows his complete disdain for what we call main stream media. He’s challenging the “brave warriors” to discuss it with him. I’m sure @TEnglishSport @kennymacsport or maybe @alexrae1969 will take up the challenge to discuss it WITH him. Kris Boyd behind the couch.

Slapping down the racist attacks by Rangers fans with ease. Kyogo and Ange have got them so scared this season and we haven’t even got going yet.
