After the match Tony Ralston was calm and measured, almost fully into footballer-speak.

Around 9.45pm on Wednesday night the defender popped up with what could be a priceless match winner to spark off scenes of celebration and relief from Dingwall and all points south.

Last minute winning goals are part of the Celtic DNA, as is overcoming adversity such as being down to 10 men in dubious circumstances.

Two weeks ago Ralston pulled up injured soon after delivering the assist for Kyogo Furuhashi’s goal against Hearts.

After missing out in the wins over Dundee United and Real Betis he came on as a late substitute in the 1-0 win over Motherwell. Against Ross County you could say that he was in the thick of the action.

If I was in the stand I’d be going nuts as well so to be involved in scoring the goal is brilliant but like I said the main thing is that I contribute to the team in a positive way, we got the three points and we’re pushing in the right direction.

After celebrating with the fans Ralston picked up a booking from referee Alan Muir, it was as welcome as Scott Brown’s second yellow from Bobby Madden away to Kilmarnock in February 2019.
