I’m not “rattled”, “hurting”, “bitter” or “deflated” BBC reporter Jane Lewis hits back at Celtic fans

Jane Lewis has taken to Twitter with gusto to defend her presentation of Sportsound on Radio Scotland last night.

Richard Gordon is the usual presenter but last night Lewis took charge on a night of drama where even the BBC Scotland website jumped the gun to comment on Celtic falling six points behind in the SPFL Premiership title race. They didn’t, today the gap remains at four points

A red card, seven minutes of stoppage time and a last gasp winner from a defender for a team missing seven forward players presented plenty of headline topics but it seems that the goal celebrations of Celtic fans was the priority on Radio Scotland.

Fans shouldn’t be out of the stand, that isn’t up for debate but in a terrace with seats installed behind the goal that Ralston scored at there is bound to be movement as Celtic fans celebrated the goal.

Some overstepped the mark, taking selfies and running around the pitch but it was confined to a small area with only one set of supporters involved. It was over and done with in less than a minute.

Last night’s match wasn’t shown on Sky Sports, more fans that usual were listening to the state broadcaster with the perception of doom among their staff picked up by Celtic supporters.

Most experienced media operators know to be very selective over social media interaction, not Jane from the BBC.
