Michael Stewart has hit out at Nick Walsh over his handling of yesterday’s match at Tynecastle.

During the week the PE teacher at Boclair High School works on the fitness of the brightest starlets at Murray Park, at the weekend he sends off opponents of the Ibrox club as they chase the Champions League windfall available to the end of the season.

Ryan Porteous and Stephen O’Donnell fell victims to Walsh earlier in the season, yesterday it was Josh Ginnelly that was on the end of a red card from Walsh.

Away to Celtic 10 days earlier Bobby Madden didn’t book any Hearts players, yesterday Walsh dished out cards to Jambos in the 37th, 54th, 84th and 85th minutes with Ginnelly, booked in the first half, sent off in the 80th minute.

Picking up on his appearance on Sportscene, the Daily Record reports Stewart saying:

The referee lost the plot in the second half. He was pulling yellow cards out all over the place. Ginnelly’s going in to break it up. He’s not aggressive, but it sparks into something.

If Nick Walsh just calms himself down – look, he’s already going over wanting to send someone off.Yellow cards were getting handed out left right and centre in the second half. Nick Walsh lost the plot.

Just calm it down, have a word with the players, and you end up with 11 men on the park.

On Wednesday night Euan Anderson will be in charge for the visit of St Johnstone, fresh from his deplorable performance in the Celtic v Motherwell match.
