More Ibrox double standards as they call off Lowland League derby clash

After winning six Lowland League matches in a row Celtic’s B team have been denied the opportunity to make it seven on the bounce at Ibrox on Friday.

While Sevco wanted to push ahead and play first team matches in front of just 500 fans away to Aberdeen and Celtic they have pulled the plug on their B team playing in front of a reduced crowd.

For more than a month the B team derby has been getting the full commercial treatment from the cash strapped Ibrox side as they sold tickets and hospitality packages for home fans only.

No explanation is given for the postponement but tickets will be valid for whenever the game is played which effectively keeps the cash inside the club as they wait for the return of fans and the chance to generate some cash flow.

Sevco normally play their Lowlamd League fixtures at Dumbarton but the visit of Celtic saw them switch the match to Ibrox to cash in on the visit of Tommy McIntyre’s side.
