Without Owen Moffat and Joey Dawson, Celtic’s B team were able to call on Rocco Vata to score the winning goal away to East Stirling last night.
Tommy McIntyre’s squad isn’t the deepest, often this season only five or six substitutes are named but the emergence of young Vata is worth keeping an eye on with last night’s goal typical of the 16-year-old.
Traditionally Celtic wingers are full of skills and tricks- not Vata. He combines raw pace with power with defences in the Lowland League toiling to pin him down.

Last night’s win made it four on the bounce for the B team as they come to terms with the challenge of well organised semi-professional opponents.
Vata could be playing for Celtic’s u-18 side next season but could be involved with the first team or sent out on loan to get regular first team football.
With fans looking out for Dawson and Moffat this weekend there may be another kid waiting on the call to step up and show what he can do at a far higher level.
