Silent Night- Green Brigade protest update

The Green Brigade will go ahead with their silent protest at tonight’s Europa League tie against Real Betis.

After an open letter signed by 250 different supporter groups to Michael Nicholson for talks has been ignored by the Celtic CEO with the stand-off over the rumoured appointment of Bernard Higgins to a security role at the club.

Yesterday the Green Brigade asked for talks to resolve the issue but that plea has been met by continued silence from the Board and CEO.

European nights under the lights are one of the biggest attractions that Celtic Park has to offer but tonight’s match against the Spanish side is likely to be eerily quiet.

At the end of October the Green Brigade staged a 30 minute silence at the start of the match against Livingston in an attempt to get the club to drop the possibility of appointing Higgins.

A further 90 minutes of silence is intended for Sunday’s match against Motherwell unless the Nicholson opens discussions with fan groups.
