Tobi Oluwayemi pulled off an absolutely outstanding save to secure full points for Celtic’s B team away to Caledonian Braves on Saturday.

Ben Wylie, Joey Dawson and Tsoanelo Letsosa scored for Tommy McIntyre’s side but they’d be the first to acknowledge the contribution of their goalkeeper to the victory.

It was bitterly cold at Alliance Park on Saturday but the two teams served up a very decent match that provided the young Celts with exactly the sort of challenge that their development needs.

Braves were pushing for an equaliser in the last 15 minutes with a variety of crosses and efforts thrown into the Celtic penalty box.

With the cold biting deep I left the stand with five minutes to go to watch the last few minutes behind the goal before dashing to the car and home. I’m glad I did.

The 90th minute cross into the penalty box was perfectly delivered, Braves striker Marc Kelly connected well, heading low and hard from 12 yards out down towards the near post.

With a combination of ability, instinct and agility Oluwayemi leapt down to his right, extended his arm and pushed the header around the post.

The England u-19 keeper has twice been on the bench for the first team in the Europa League this season, if his development can be managed properly Celtic could soon have an outstanding young keeper pushing or replacing Joe Hart.
